As healthcare facilities around the UK begin ramping up in response to the COVID-19 crisis, demand for beds, pressure mattresses and patient mobility equipment as well as onsite service support is rising rapidly. A number of healthcare facilities are short staffed or need additional service engineers to help them during this critical phase. Strict Vetting Process:
All Field Service Engineers are strictly vetted with DBS checks to an advanced level, each carry identity cards and wear easily recognisable Arjo uniform, providing you and your staff with security and peace of mind.
Arjo Engineers hold City and Guild/ NTEC/ ONC or equivalent, and they are certified by Arjo to work on a range of equipment including beds and mobility equipment in accordance with PUWER & LOLER. This is overseen by Management Systems certified by BSI to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

Enhanced Procedures for Covid-19
Following the corona virus (COVID-19) outbreak, we have taken further relevant preventive measures to manage the situation in the best way possible. Arjo are and will continue to follow the relevant recommendations and guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO), the NHS and regional Public Health services (PHE, HPS, PHW & HSC PHA - England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).
We have adjusted our standard operating procedures when dealing with customer requests or scheduled facility visits including ensuring that all of our employees are equipped with additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Arjo has introduced a triage process at initial call receipt to understand if any Covid-19 (or suspected outbreak) has occurred at the facility or if anyone is self-isolating due to being in one of the at risk groups. At this stage we also enquire in regards to access to the facility. If able to access site, an engineer will attend site and follow some extra precautionary steps (as well as our standard PPE), including:
- Washing hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub on entry (and exit)
- Maintaining a social distance of at least 2 meters.
- Minimising touching of internal surfaces
- Decontamination and removal of PPE upon exit from the facility
In situations where, after discussion with yourselves, we are not permitted to attend your site due to the current corona virus outbreak, enabling your facility to minimise potential exposure to staff and patients from individuals who visit multiple clinical environments and maintain social distancing protocols, the following will apply:
Utilise the Arjo Technical Support team who can provide telephone support to try and rectify the issue remotely (dispatching spare parts as required).
If this is not successful, we can dispatch an engineer equipped with a mobile shelter who can work on the equipment outside once it is decontaminated.
